In 2019 Woodchester Mansion will be open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays every week between 5 April and 3 November. The Mansion will also be open on Bank Holiday Mondays.

Please note: On some open days, parts of the Mansion may be closed for private events. Before your visit, please check this Events Calendar to find out what is happening at the Mansion on the day that you plan to visit.

Bat Walk

Event starts: 23 August 2013

Friday 23 August 2013

See our bats in their natural habitat on our 'batcams' and learn about these fascinating mammals from the experts. If the weather is good, you can walk outside the Mansion with bat detectors to see the bats foraging.

The walk is a joint project between the Gloucester Bat Group and Woodchester Mansion Trust and will be led by Alan Sumnall of the Gloucester Bat Group. There will be a charge of £5.00 per person for the walk.

Numbers for this event are strictly limited - so advance booking is necessary. Please book by e-mailing (preferable) or by calling 01453-861541.

Please park in the National Trust car park (normal parking charges apply) and walk to the Mansion - approximately two-thirds of a mile - and meet outside the Mansion at 7.30pm.

Please note that, depending on the weather, the track from the car park to the Mansion may be wet and muddy so please wear suitable footwear - and don't forget that it will be dark by the time that you walk back up the track so remember to bring a torch.
