Written by Shakespeare in his later years, The Winter’s Tale is an intriguing mix of drama and comedy. Sparked by an obsessive envy of a perceived relationship between his Queen and his oldest friend, Leontes, King of Sicilia, sets in motion a train of events which affect two kingdoms and two generations; there is jealousy and joy, revenge and romance, loss and discovery, remorse and revelry, and an amazing revelation. Tremendous entertainment for a Summer evening from this premier all-male company.

Please note, this is an outdoor performance and will take place whatever the weather. Please come prepared for all that the elements may offer. There is no option to move the performance inside the Mansion should the weather be bad.

The grounds will be open at 5.30pm for picnics, and the performance will start at 6.30pm. Please bring chairs and blankets for your own comfort.

Please park in the National Trust car park and either walk down the two-thirds of a mile to the Mansion or await our minibuses, which will take you from the foot of the steps from the NT car park to the Mansion, and return you to the steps at the end of the performance.

Tickets: £15 from the Mansion (01453 861541) or online from http://thefestivalplayers.co.uk
