Event starts: 03 March 2017
Would you like to join a team of enthusiastic volunteers helping to show off to the public a unique part of the country's heritage?
Woodchester Mansion is open to the public from 11.00am - 5.00pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (and Bank Holiday Mondays) from 1 April to 29 October in 2017 and we want to recruit more volunteers to help on our open days.
We are holding an informal recruitment evening in the Mortimer Room (by the library) in Nailsworth on Friday 3 March. If you would like to know more about what we do then please come along to chat to some of our volunteers. We'll be there from 6.30 until 8.00pm
And if you can't make Friday then we will be at the Mansion on Sunday 5 March with a guided tour of the Mansion at 3.00pm. Just park in the National Trust car park and either walk down (two-thirds of a mile) through the Park to the Mansion - or wait for the minibus, which will leave the foot of the steps at 2.30pm.
On open days our volunteers help in these ways:
- welcoming visitors and selling tickets
- serving refreshments
- taking guided tours
- driving minibuses taking visitors to and from the Mansion
We provide full training and you can volunteer for as much or as little as you feel comfortable with, and we have an online rota so that you can sign up on the days that you want to volunteer. All we ask is that you let us know as soon as possible if you can't make a day that you have put yourself on the rota.
We are also seeking volunteers to help with non-heritage maintenance of the building and grounds when we are not open to the public. Our Site Services Manager, Max Raven, leads a small team who maintain the grounds and do whatever is necessary to make sure that the Mansion is ready to welcome visitors on our open days.
We look forward to seeing you.
PS if you can't make either of these days and you would like more information then please call the office (01435 861541) or e-mail email@example.com
