Halloween open days

Halloween weekend - 27, 28 October 2012

The annual Halloween weekend was our most successful yet with almost 400 visitors -  including over 150 children - at the Mansion during the two days.

witches and catThe haunted house created in the cellars was very popular - and very scary - and we used the former shop as the starting point for a skeleton hunt around the Mansion. Also, on the Sunday, weskeleton welcomed Ayumi Ashen to paint faces of many visitors - needless to say, she was kept very busy. A goodly number of children arrived in fancy dress and at least one posed a problem: how to face-paint a ghost!

Thanks to Sandie Clarke and Liz Davenport for master-minding the whole weekend and many thanks to all of our Volunteers who helped to decorate the cellars and who helped to provide spooky entertainment throughout the weekend - they all did a splendid job in entertaining our many visitors - both adults and children.
