Woodchester Mansion is open for the 2019 season

The Mansion will open to the public on Friday 5 April 2019 and will, then, be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and Bank Holidays until Sunday 3 November 2019

Note that the Mansion and grounds will be closed on Sunday 28 April for a private function. 

We are taking bookings for private tours and private hire so, if you would like to book a private tour or to hire the Mansion for your private event, please contact the Mansion office by e-mail at info@woodchestermansion.org.uk or by phone on 01453 861541. We look forward to hearing from you.

Green Man Day: Monday 6 May. Traditionally representing the re-birth of nature in the Spring, Green Men have their roots in pre-Christianity but feature in churches across several continents. The Mansion chapel has two Green Men – come and see them, learn more about these lovely carvings, and take the children on a children’s trail around the Mansion to learn more.

Stroud Open Studios: 11-12, and 18-19 May. Woodchester Mansion will be hosting artists Matt Pilston, Nina Brabbins and Rose Illingworth. Their work will be on display in the Mansion, and the artists will be available too.

Art Sparks Children's Workshops: 28 May, 24 July, 13 August, 20 August. This summer, Woodchester Mansion will be hosting four Art Sparks creative children’s art workshops inspired by the Mansion.

Woodchester Bat Experiences: 31 May, 21 June, 5 July, 19 July, 9 August, 6 September. Learn about our Greater and Lesser Horseshoes and watch them in their maternity roosts.

Bastard Blood: 7-8 June. Live theatre around the Mansion.

Stone Days: 27 July, 31 August. The Guild of St Stephen and St George are running taster days in stone masonry. Come and try your hand at this ancient craft under the supervision of a Master Mason and his apprentices. You will be given expert advise on how to handle tools and work stone to achieve beautiful results that you can take home.

“Made in Woodchester” Craft Fair: Sunday 11 August. Local craftsmen from the village of Woodchester.

Festival Players: 22 August. Much Ado About Nothing. Outdoor Theatre from this popular touring company.

Halloween Party: 26 October. Fancy Dress, Bar, Disco with Halloween theme.

Mansion cellars decorated for Halloween half-term: 29 October – 3 November.
