Tour of the Servants' Quarters

Event starts: 06 October 2018
Event ends: 07 October 2018

The Servants' Quarters are open to the public

Servants quarters Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 October 2018

This is a chance to see a part of the Mansion that is not normally open to the public.

Throughout most of the open season, we cannot open the North Range to the public as it is the home of the Mansion's Greater and Lesser Horseshoe bat colonies. However, the bats leave the Mansion for their winter hibernation during September and we take this opportunity to open that area to our visitors.

We regret that we are not able to admit visitors to the Brewery at present as we are awaiting a report from our Structural Engineer on potential problems in that area. However, we will be opening the Servants' Quarters so that you will be able to see where William Leigh's family servants would have lived and, where, we believe, Vincent Leigh lived during the time leading up to the 1922 sale of the estate.

Servants quartersServants quartersThe Servants' Quarters will only be open on Saturday 6 October and Sunday 7 October in 2018 but you will have the benefit of experienced tour guides who will take small groups of visitors into this part of the Mansion.

The Mansion will be open from 11.00am until 5.00pm (last admission 4.00pm) on both 6 and 7 October 2018. Normal admission charges apply and there is no additional charge for the tour of the Servants' Quarters - but please note that children under 12 years will not be allowed on the tours.
