Stone & Craft Festival with the Stonemasons’ Guild of St Stephen
Members of the ancient Stonemasons’ Guild of St Stephen from all over the world will be converging on Woodchester Mansion for a traditional Guild meeting from 8th-14th June.
Everyone is invited to the Mansion for the weekend of the 8th & 9th of June. There will be a STONE & CRAFT Festival, featuring
- Stone carving displays – limestone & marble
- ‘Have a go’ at carving for the public – short tasters
- Arch construction
- Carpentry demos
- Building a masons’ lodge
- Dry stone walling – demos and classes
- Lime mortar demos
- More TBC – watch this space as plans firm up!
In addition, there will be
- Talks for adults
- Storytelling for children
- Static displays in the Mansion library
The adult talks programme will cover a range of craft related and historical topics. It will extend into the week 10-14 June. Some of these talks will be more technical, but the public may attend if they wish. They are also a great opportunity for CPD for crafts and tradespeople.
