Sat 5th & Sun 6th October 2024
This year the amazing Mansion Brewery and the Servants’ Quarters will be open to the public on the weekend 5th – 6th October.
It’s a once-in-a-year chance to see the unique BREWERY, as it’s the preserve of the bats during the spring and summer months so public access cannot be permitted.
Inside the brewery
Our volunteer guides will conduct small groups of up to 10 people (minimum age 12 years). We’ll explain why the completed Mansion would have incorporated an in-house brewery and show you the two floors of this vital part of the house.
The cooling trays
We’ll then lead you deeper into the North Range and up into the Servants’ Quarters, the one part of the house that was substantially completed and lived in for a time, pointing out several intriguing features as well as the evidence of more recent occupation (not necessarily of the spooky kind!).
In the servants’ quarters
These extra tours enable you to see areas of the building that are an essential part of the history and mystery of the Woodchester Mansion story, and are included in the normal admission charge. NO BOOKING NEEDED – just roll up! Make a point of visiting on 5th – 6th Oct.
Wonderful view down the valley
Please note that the stairs to this part of the building are steep and narrow with no handrails.
Children under 12 are not admitted.
